The idea of Mungo Fizz was created on May 7, 2017 by Jordon Henley and Camden Hinman. Jordon and Camden were brainstorming one night at a local restaurant trying to come up with something to do over the summer. They pitched in ideas until Jordon suggested starting a business. They then decided on a soda company and thought of names for the company. Jordon found the word Mungo from a musician whose music was playing at the time. The word Mungo also means dumpster dive which inspired the original logo: a deep sea diver with trash scrambled through his suit. The next day Camden created the first helmet which would become the face and icon of Mungo Fizz. The trash diver was later thrown away and the diver helmet stayed. The first two helmets that were created corresponded to each founder. The blue helmet for Jordon and the yellow for Camden. With a look and concept down, they got to work on making their own homemade fruit-flavored soda. After a few months of research and testing, the first flavor was released: Rootbeer.
